A website is software, and software needs looking after. Our packages include maintenance for the first year. When that year ends, you choose whether to renew. This is what that choice involves.
What maintenance covers
- Updates. The content management system, its theme and its plugins are updated and tested.
- Backups. Copies are kept so the site can be restored.
- Security. Known weaknesses are closed as fixes are released.
- Checks. Forms, certificates and renewals are watched so that nothing quietly stops working.
What tends to happen without it
Nothing, at first. That is the danger. Software that is not updated falls behind. Features stop working after a hosting change, an enquiry form stops delivering, or an old plugin becomes a way in for an attacker. The repair usually costs more than the maintenance would have.
Your options at renewal
We contact you about a month before your first year ends. You can renew with us, from Rs 4,000 a year, or look after the site yourself. If you do not renew, appoint someone capable to keep the site updated and protected.
Questions to ask any supplier
- How often are updates applied?
- Where are backups kept, and for how long?
- How quickly will you respond if the site goes down?
If you have questions about your own site, get in touch.
